Mike is currently studying to be a professionally qualified youth worker at the University of Chester and have experience working with young people across Greater Manchester and Cheshire in a variety of settings.
Most recently Mike has been working to develop and implement youth work within a high school, looking at how informal education can work alongside formal education to provide the best outcomes for young people.
In the past Mike has enjoyed worked with young people who are ‘at risk’ of becoming NEET (Not in Education, Employment or Training), have disabilities or learning difficulties (LDD) and teenage parents, this work has taken place across Public, Private and Voluntary organisations.
One of Mike’s passions is showing youth workers how policy can work to benefit front line workers and their organisations instead of becoming a barrier to the effectiveness of their work.
